We’re pleased to announce to Regina and Swift Current drivers that the 2016 Nissan Frontier was named Top Midsize Truck by J. D. Power. This is according to their celebrated Initial Quality Study (IQS), which has become the industry standard for new vehicle quality.
The Initial Quality Study (IQS)
Unlike other awards and honors, J.D. Power’s IQS is based around fact rather than opinion. For 2016, more than 80,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2016 model-year vehicles were asked to carry out the IQS survey. This in-depth 233-question study is organized into eight categories that examine the problems experienced by vehicle owners during the first 90 days of ownership, with initial quality determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100).
When all was said and done, the 2016 Nissan Frontier reigned supreme in the midsize truck class, scoring the lowest incidence rate of problems with ease. That speaks to the painstaking craftsmanship that goes into each model.
As stated by Dan Mohnke, vice president, chief marketing manager and marketing operations, Nissan North America: “Earning the top spot among vehicles in the extremely competitive midsize truck segment is an immense point of pride for us.”
A Strong Year for Nissan
The ascension of the 2016 Frontier to the top of its class hasn’t been the only reason for Nissan fans to smile. The IQS also marked Nissan’s rise 10 spots in the study. That brings it to 10th position overall, or sixth among non-premium brands, and places the manufacturer well above the overall industry average.
With an overall brand performance improvement of 20 PP100, Nissan models are clearly made with quality in mind. 2016 also sees the 2016 Murano ranked among the top-three models in the midsize CUV segment and the Altima coming within a single point of the top spot in the insanely competitive midsize sedan category.
The 2016 Nissan Frontier Is Unrivaled for Reliability
The Frontier has been made to last, and it beats the competition from the word go. If you’d like to take a closer look or arrange a test drive, you’ll find the 2016 Frontier in showrooms across the country.
